Made of lightweight 5-mm anodized aluminum, the skid plate shields the vulnerable engine, exhaust header and oil cooler. It manages these tasks without giving up ground clearance and while still allowing optimal air flow. Made with the rider’s convenience in mind, the skid plate can remain installed during oil changes on the center-stand or side-stand since the relief is cut so oil can be drained while the bike is upright or on the side-stand. Included with the skid plate is a redesigned rear bracket that allows for easier installation and more overall strength.
