Nouveau Retro Motorcycle Gear

Everything Old is New Again

Strange how things move in cycles: fashion, the weather, your bank account balance. We won't subject you to bell-bottoms, lava lamps or shag carpet, but this collection of classic kit is sure to remind you of days gone by-in a good way.

Metro Racing T-Shirts
Kickin' it old school with a new-style feel, Metro Racing's Authentic T collection has all your favorite vintage motorcycle logos distress-printed on comfortable, 100-percent-cotton T-shirts that cost just $23.95 apiece. The selection includes classic marques large and small, as well as various motorcycle clubs and events, such as the Wall of Death shirt the lovely Linda is sporting here. They're available in both men's sizes and snug-cut women's sizes that emphasize the feminine form.

Garage Company Rubber Stamps
Personalize envelopes, business cards and correspondence with these one-of-a-kind motorcycle stamps. Finely crafted with carved wooden handles and intricate molds, these cool rubber stamps leave the image of the famous marque of your choice. Choose from Bultaco, BMW, Ducati, Indian, Ariel, Norton, Honda and many more. Stamps range in price from $6.50 to $7.95, and are available from The Garage Company, a virtual treasure trove of retro motorcycle parts, accessories and memorabilia.

Harley-Davidson Bryce Boots
These rugged, engineer-style boots embody all that is classic and retro. Clean, simple and sturdy, the Bryce boots from Harley-Davidson are the archetypal biker boots, just like the ones worn by the iterant Wyatt in Easy Rider and the troubled Jim Stark in Rebel Without a Cause. Priced at $160, the boots are constructed from full-grain cowhide and feature an inside shaft zipper for easy on/off. The rubber outsole is oil-resistant and engineered for long wear and durability, so the legacy will endure for years to come.

Pirelli Phantom Tires
Riding vintage iron is cool, but rolling on vintage rubber is downright dangerous. Don't want to spoil the look of your classic motorcycle with modern buns? Then check out Pirelli's Phantom tires. The Phantoms utilize Pirelli's latest tire technology-like its patented zero-degree steel-belted radial carcass-for light, precise handling, excellent grip and good mileage, all in a fashionable, classic geometric tread pattern. The tires are offered in 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear sizes and retail for $185 and $240, respectively.

Choppertown: The Sinners DVD
The award-winning documentary about the renowned hot-rod and motorcycle club The Sinners, Choppertown follows the creative impulses of club members Kutty Noteboom and Jason Jessee as they go about the task of building a custom chopper. Modern-day greasers, The Sinners define the term "old-school," building Rat Rods, Trumps, Mercs and Bobbers, all while playing music, drinking beer and getting into the occasional bar brawl. Choppertown: The Sinners has a run time of over 2 hours, and comes with a 12-page color booklet, all for $24.95.

SuperTrapp Megaphone Exhaust
Nothing complements your Harley-Davidson XR1200's retro-dirt-track look like a megaphone exhaust. Thankfully, you don't have to hit the junkyard with a hacksaw and torch to find the appropriate parts. SuperTrapp, one of the original names in performance exhausts, jumped at the opportunity to build a pipe for the iconic XR, and did so in classic style. The $985 system features brushed stainless-steel megaphones that are tunable for power and sound via SuperTrapp's signature diffuser-disc system. Not only does the system look cool and unleash the V-twin's heavy rumble, it drops more than 25 pounds.

Easy Rider Commemorative Poster
Want something to remind you of the idealism, passion and frustration of your youth? For some that would be a stained and tattered Woodstock ticket, but for motorcycle-oriented individuals it's got to be some representation of the landmark counterculture film Easy Rider, now celebrating its 40th anniversary. This 11x14-inch matted and wood-framed wall hanging is just the thing to ruminate on. It features an 8x10-inch image of the main characters aboard their freedom-machines, a 4x6-inch photo of mastermind Peter Fonda, and a brief biography with pertinent facts, in case your memory is hazy, all for $39.95.

Fulmer Glitter Bobber Helmets
Garage sales aren't the only place to find metal-flake lids-you can also get them at your local Fulmer dealer. The Memphis-based company launched its first motorcycle helmets in 1969-the same year John married Yoko and Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. In a nod to their beginnings, the Fulmer folks have added more eye-catching colors to their retro lineup, including glitter pink, green gold, blue, silver and white. Prices range from $69.95 to $107.95, but don't forget to tack on $18.95 for a period-correct bubble shield in chrome, smoke or clear. Far out, man!

Icon Vintage Flattrack Daytona Jacket
Icon appreciates the good old days of two-piece leathers and steel shoes. In celebration of that most heroic of American motorsports, Icon has released the Vintage Flattrack Jacket, cast in classic racing colors and complete with sponsor patches, striping and script. Hewn with a straight-cut body for a relaxed fit, the $470 jacket is made from 1.2-1.4mm leather that has undergone a special vintage treatment to give it that long-worn look and feel right off the rack. Indulge in the modern era with CE-approved elbow and shoulder armor.
