Afternoon rain showers were no match for the enthusiasm and dedication of the thousands of motorcyclists who descended on Colorado's Copper Mountain Resort and Village for the inaugural Cycle Fest, presented by Suzuki. Taking place the last weekend of August 2003, the first-ever Cycle Fest handily exceeded attendance expectations, and promises to become an annual staple on the calendars of many motorcycle lovers.

Orchestrated by the able people at Race Promotion Management (RPM) - the same group responsible for promoting the largest motorcycle race in North America, the Superbike Classic at Laguna Seca - Cycle Fest combined an outdoor vendor mall and live concert events with on-site demo-rides offered by Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Triumph and Buell. As if all this wasn't enough, RPM also brought Supermoto racing to the mountains and offered fans and racers a huge, and hugely exciting track that was home to awesome racing action and afforded excellent viewing vistas for the thousands of spectators. Best of all, there were scores of motorcycles and motorcyclists, perpetually sold-out demo-rides and tons of fun for all, yet not a single reported injury - not even from the family whose car launched off the freeway and down a cliff when the driver decided he'd rather stare at the excitement of Cycle Fest than watch the road! Now if that doesn't speak to this event's panache and power of attraction, we don't know what does! Hope to see you in the mountains next year, we'll be there!
