Hayden acclimated reasonably quickly to the stiff Lola/Honda, which produces enough downforce at speed to run upside down. A carbon-fiber Lola chassis costs a cool $450,000. And you can't even buy the Honda motor in back; Honda leases them. They come to the races in big aluminum boxes, and when they're used up after 500 miles or so they go back to Honda. The bill at season's end? Two to three million bucks.
