It took only a month to clean, paint and rebuild the bike to get it running. Having a generator on board meant we could use power tools, without which the job could easily have taken three times as long. The only disadvantage of rebuilding the bike on a small anchored boat was that if we dropped parts or tools they sometimes bounced overboard. One day the carburetors bounced into the sea.
