2012 Yamaha XT Review

Intro

No one ever said you need separate motorcycles for trail riding and street riding. And that’s precisely why the 2012 Yamaha XT exists. It marries the best of both worlds, leaving the choice of medium to the rider. Long-travel suspensions and high clearance assures the rider will have no issues when it comes to terrain.

The bike is nimble, the bike is quick. The center of gravity is more balanced than before, and this combined with a semi-double-cradle steel frame provides responsive handling and a lighter feel. A long, slender sat that rests at just below 32 inches off the ground creates a low profile that’s comfortable for trail or city riding. The XT comes with 245mm front disc and 203mm rear disc brakes, which combine to deliver superb stopping power no matter what surface you’ve ventured out on.

The engine in the XTR works well with the body, and most riders. A 33mm vacuum-type carburetor keeps the airflow up for excellent performance and throttle response, and a lighter crankshaft provides more responsive power. It’s not just a fun bike to ride, but it’s an easy ride, too. This versatile bike brings it all, with a seamless transition from asphalt to dirt and back again, so you can let your heart lead you. The bike will follow.
