2010 Vespa S Review

Intro

The Vespa S was manufactured in Italy and first announced in the year 2008. This bike is equipped with front hydraulic disc brakes that allow you to stop safely on demand. The standard model consists of a 150cc, single-cylinder engine. The S is very unlike the LX in appearance but the 150cc and two-stroke 50cc versions are exactly the same beneath the hood.

The Vespa S50 preserves the original style but offers an improved engine. The S50 allows for easy handling and comparatively low running rates due to the electronic start and automatic transmission. The Vespa S50 4v consists of a four-stroke, four-valve engine. The bike’s capacity of 4.25 bhp makes it the most powerful four-stroke 50cc. The power is evidently more than that of a two-stroke model but the advantages lie in the new emission and consumption features of a four-stroke.

There are apparent changes noticeable in the Vespa S, such as a sporty trim, a pair of rectangular-shaped mirrors, a special gauge cluster, and a more tapered horn cast that has a chrome piece fixed down the center. You will also find that the rear fairings and front fender are curved with a similar chrome crest. The S comes with two open trays attached on either side of the steering column. The most evident and prominent difference is the trapezoidal headlight which is styled in accordance with the vintage Vespa sport bikes.

The Vespa S has two seating options to suit your tastes. You could choose the one-person sport edition that has a curved back or you could go in for a longer, two-person seat. The original colors of the S were Dragon Red, Shiny Black, Montebianco White, and Toarmina Orange.
