2011 Suzuki GSX Review

Intro

The 2011 Suzuki GSX is a versatile motorcycle, offering the benefits of a sport-tourer and a sport bike. A revision of the former Suzuki Bandit, the GSX 1250 FA offers a fair amount of torque, getting 72.3 lb-ft at 3500 rpm and offers an adequate 92.6 horsepower. This engine is paired with a constant mesh, six-speed transmission that shifts smoothly once the bike is warmed up. Somewhat surprising considering its 567-pound curb weight, the GSX offers excellent handling. Some of its lighter competitors offer better handling, though little will be missed when riding the GSX. Its excellent suspension makes longer road trips more comfortable, though aggressive cornering and braking can make the rider feel the weight of the bike more. Its most advanced feature is its Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), which ensures a safer ride with firm braking ability. Its front suspension offers excellent communication between the driver and the road while absorbing bumps on the road with ease. The suspension also delivers a comfortable ride for sporty maneuvers or for extended touring.

The GSX has two helmet locks located conveniently under the seat, a nice feature missing from a lot of modern motorcycles. A hard saddlebag set and a top case augment the cargo-carrying capacity of the bike, as well as accentuate its plush look. The bags are easy to use and can be removed or placed on the brackets without difficulty. They include a durable matte-black finish. The tail trunk offers some more storage space, having about enough room for a full-face helmet, though a space under the seat with two helmet hooks is provided as well. The tail trunk is finished with a gloss black to match the rest of the bike’s paint scheme. The comfortable seat is also adjustable, and can be raised or lowered to 31.7 inches or 32.5 inches. A sport, touring windshield effectively reduces the amount of wind on the driver and includes full fairing. The mirrors are standard Suzuki stock and offer an excellent view of the road behind the driver and remain nearly free of vibration.

The Suzuki GSX 1250 FA features a sporty and aggressive design which includes full body fairing and the stacked headlight assembly included in the GSX-R sport bike models. Coupled with its versatile ride, the GSX is a fine choice for anyone who is simply looking for a solid riding experience without the need for too much flair or power. Well-equipped, comfortable, and sport, the 2011 Suzuki GSX offers a little something for everyone with this new offering. Few competitors offer such versatility in a motorcycle for the price.
