2008 QLINK Legend Review

Intro

QLINK is still a relatively new name on the international motorcycle scene, having only been founded in 1988. The company was founded on the simple idea of providing power sports enthusiasts with fun, affordable, and high quality means of on-road and off-road transportation. The company has always valued creative styling and has created a diverse line of attractive two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles. Beyond just looking good, QLINK bikes are designed to be mechanically sound and to have a minimal impact on the environment. QLINK’s commitment to providing working class individuals with a reliable means of transportation or weekend recreation has led to the company devising stringent quality control measures in terms of manufacturing. By maintaining good relationships with suppliers and dealerships, while refusing to unduly mark up their products, QLINK is generally able to furnish riders with quality vehicles at affordable prices. QLINK offers a diverse line of products that includes dirt bikes, street bikes, scooters, ATVs, and UTVs.

The 2008 QLINK Legend is a cruiser style bike with a classic retro feel to it and the same commitment to quality that all QLINK products maintain. With its old school aesthetics, the 2008 Legend 250 is a custom cruiser with a speedometer that’s mounted to the triple trees for better visibility. A four-stroke, 233cc parallel twin engine that comes paired with a five-speed manual transmission powers the Legend. Power is transferred to the wheels via a chain final drive unit. The 2008 Legend 250 rides on aluminum wheels with a 110/90 R16 tire out front and a 130/90 R15 in the rear. The bike’s front suspension is telescopic fork, while the rear is a twin sided swing arm. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The Legend has a two-piece saddle and can comfortably accommodate the rider and one passenger. The 2008 QLINK legend attractively combines affordability with classic retro cruiser styling. For an affordable low displacement bike, the 2008 QLINK Legend 250 is pretty cool. For starters it’s decked out in chrome. It was based on high priced metric cruiser models from manufacturers such as Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha.

However the 2008 Legend comes equipped with a smaller four-cycle engine and is priced way below the competition. The bike’s 233cc engine is relatively powerful and runs smoothly. The bike’s old school styling is consistent from its front lighting to the specially designed seat with passenger seatback cushion. The speedometer mounted to the triple tree gives the Legend 250 an even more distinct look. Stock features for the 2008 QLINK Legend 250 include a fully digital illuminated LED fuel gauge located right on the fuel tank, and a fully digital illuminated LED gear shift position indicator. This makes the Legend a great bike for beginner riders, as it makes it easy to remember which gear you are in. There is also a chrome light bar mounted to the triple trees with a pair of chrome auxiliary passing lamps that enhance the Legend’s classic cruiser looks. The 2008 QLINK Legend was made available in black or red.

While it’s true that the Legend was discontinued the following year, models from 2008 remain a great buy on the used motorcycle market. The 2008 QLINK Legend 250 is a stylish looking, reliable, and affordable cruiser bike. It’s easy to handle and operate, which makes it a great bike for beginners. However even riders with more experience will undoubtedly get a kick out of the Legend 250. Its retro styling is certain to turn heads, and while it may not compete with bigger models as far as engine power, the 2008 QLINK Legend 250 is still a fun bike for tooling around town or taking a weekend jaunt out to the country. The bike was affordable when it was new and used models are also generally available for less than what you’d pay for a used make made by a competing brand.
