2009 QLINK Axon Review

Intro

The 2009 QLINK Axon, better known as the 2009 QLINK Axon 50, is a scooter from multinational power sports manufacturer QLINK released for the 2009 model year. It is classified as a 49cc scooter, since the displacement of its engine is 49 cubic centimeters. The 2009 QLINK Axon’s numerical suffix ""50"" is derived from its engine displacement. The Axon 50 for the 2009 model year is particularly designed, priced, and marketed as a budget-oriented scooter.

Powering the 2009 QLINK Axon 50 is a four-stroke double overhead camshaft (DOHC) single-cylinder engine that produces 2.6 horsepower and 2.8 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 revolutions per minute. Other technical specs of the engine include a bore and stroke of 39 x 41.5 millimeters, compression ratio of 10.5 to 1 and two valves on its lone cylinder. The engine’s Keihin carburetor enables the car to start quickly, especially in cold weather; and greatly complements the scooter’s electric/kick engine starter.

The 2009 QLINK Axon 50‘s engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission, or CVT, which is configured to allow the driver to shift through an unlimited number of effective gear ratios. This aspect of the gearbox consequently improves fuel economy. Each 2009 QLINK Axon 50 has a fuel tank that can hold up to 1.7 gallons.

Customers have the choice of getting a 2009 QLINK Axon 50 in blue, red, and yellow. A leather-trimmed seat is designed for accommodating one person: the driver. The 2009 QLINK Axon 50 is constructed with a steel-tube frame slapped with plastic. For its suspension, the bike uses a telescopic fork for the front and single sided swing arm for the rear. The Axon 50 rides on 10-inch aluminum wheels, with a disc brake up front and drum brake in the back.
