2007 Kymco Venox Review

Intro

Debuting for the 2004 model year, the Kymco Venox--designed as a cruiser bike--became the biggest motorcycle in the history of Taiwanese manufacturer Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd. (Kymco). Thus the 2007 Kymco Venox marks the fourth model year of the nameplate. Priced as an entry-level motorcycle, Kymco set the manufacturer’s suggested retail price at $3,999.

The 2007 Kymco Venox is also known as the 2007 Kymco Venox 250--thanks to its engine displacement measured at 249 cubic centimeters (rounded up to 250). The engine itself is a 4-stroke V-twin two-cylinder unit, with four valves on each cylinder. It powers the bike with 28 horsepower at 10,500 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 14.6 pound-feet of torque at 8,500 RPM. The engine has a liquid cooler for prevention of overheating and consequent breakdown. Each ‘07 Venox has a bore and stroke of 2.29 and 1.86 inches.

The 2007 Kymco Venox's engine is mated with a five-speed manual transmission. The bike's powertrain--coupled with its peak fuel capacity of 3.7 gallons--provides a fuel economy of 61 miles per gallon. Also worthy of note are the Venox’s electric starter and carburetor for quick engine start-up; and muffler with exhaust catalyst technology for reducing air pollution.

The 2007 Kymco Venox comes as a Blue-Black or Deep Red motorcycle. Each bike has a digital dashboard that contains a clock, tachometer, trip odometer, speedometer, and temperature warning and fuel level indicators. A one-piece seat that Kymco sets at a height of 29 inches can accommodate the driver and one passenger. Seventeen-inch and 15-inch aluminum wheels go on the front and at the back, respectively. Halogen headlights and rearview mirrors provide the driver with enhanced lighting and visibility.

Each 2007 Kymco Venox measures around 91 inches in length, around 33 inches in width and around 43 inches in width. The wheelbase and dry weight of the bike is estimated at 63 inches and 419 lbs., respectively.
