2013 Yamaha TT-R 125LE

Intro

The 2013 Yamaha TT-R is a serious trail bike that’s available in four versions: the TT-R230, TT-R110E, TT-R50E, and the TT-R125LE. All four models are capable performers off-road and share many features, including an electric starter and a four-stroke engine. The 230 is obviously more powerful than the 125LE, but both bikes are accessible to a wide range of riders.

The 2013 Yamaha TT-R230 is a formidable trail bike with a long travel suspension, 11.6 inches of ground clearance, an electric starter, and a beefy four-stroke engine that’s perfectly suited for conquering trails. With handling and styling both inspired by the legendary Yamaha YZ, and a 223cc air-cooled SOHC, four-stroke engine, the TT-R230 is a great bike for beginners and intermediate level riders. Rider mobility is good, thanks to a competition-style flat seat/tank junction. Starting the bike is as simple as pushing a button with the reliable, low-maintenance CDI magneto electric starter. Much of the TT-R230’s accessibility to different riders and ability on trails is due to its long-travel suspension and ample ground clearance. Handling and strength are also both great, thanks to the 2013 Yamaha TT-R230’s steel, diamond-type-design frame. The bike’s 223cc SOHC four-stroke engine is reliable, air-cooled and generates smooth, widespread power that’s ideal for riding trails. The bike’s six-speed transmission shifts smoothly and the heavy-duty clutch is geared towards maximum versatility and optimal delivery of power. The need for engine maintenance is minimized and longevity is increased thanks to an automatic cam chain tensioner. The bike has a lightweight exhaust system with a quiet muffler. The 2013 Yamaha TT-R230’s steel frame combined with its low seat height, and compact wheelbase mean that the bike is accessible to new or smaller riders. The compact wheelbase and low seat height also contribute to the bike’s superior maneuverability and responsive handling. The TT-R230’s fuel tank is sleek-looking and has a 2.1-gallon capacity, lending the bike increased range. Colors inspired by Team Yamaha, graphics, and front and side number plates further add to the TT-R230’s distinctive styling.

The 2013 Yamaha TT-R125LE is a smaller bike that’s also been styled after the Yamaha YZ. It’s powered by a 124cc air-cooled, SOHC four-stroke engine that puts out the kind of torque-laden power that’s ideal for maximizing performance in off-road situations. The 125LE also comes equipped with an easy, reliable CDI push-button ignition system. Throttle response on the 125LE is crisp and dependable, thanks to a 20mm Mikuni® carburetor. The five-speed transmission shifts smoothly and the heavy-duty clutch is geared for the same kind of versatility and optimal power delivery as that of the TT-R230. The 2013 Yamaha TT-R125LE has a smaller, rigid frame and a long wheelbase. This allows the bike to comfortably accommodate riders of all sizes, while also being able to maintain its quick, agile handling while off-road. Knobby tires help facilitate excellent road grip, while front disc and rear drum brakes deliver stopping power that’s strong and dependable. Like the TT-R230, the 125LE sports colors inspired by Team Yamaha, graphics, and front and side number plates that lend to an overall styling suggestive of a larger YZ model.

The smaller 2013 Yamaha TT-R110E and TT-R50E models share many of the same features as the larger 125LE and 230 models, including electric starters, YZ-inspired styling, and automatic cam chain tensioners. The TT-R50E is powered by a 49cc air-cooled SOHC engine and is a great bike for kids just learning how to handle trails and off-road situations. The larger Yamaha TT-R110 is powered by a torquey 110cc air-cooled four-stroke engine. The combination of its midlevel power and manageable size make it perhaps the most widely-accessible bike in the 2013 Yamaha TT-R lineup.
