2013 Yamaha Stratoliner S

Intro

With style and performance capability to spare, the 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner S is an aluminum-framed, fuel-injected cruiser with a 113-cubic-inch engine. The Stratoliner S is decked out in chrome from head to toe, with chrome switchgear, front brakes, clutch master cylinders and levers, belt guard, fork and fork covers, handlebar clamps, shifter, front pulley cover, engine covers, and rear fender stay. The 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner comes equipped with a large pair of leather-covered, locking hard sidebags that can be filled with everything from a bag of groceries to luggage for an extended road jaunt. The 2013 Stratoliner’s distinctive looks are bolstered by its neo-streamline design, while a long and low aluminum frame provides for great looks and handling that’s far lighter than what you’d expect from a full-size cruiser. Rider comfort is maximized by the bike’s sculpted seat that keeps you from feeling too much of the road, even over the long haul. Visibility is excellent thanks to position beams within the main headlight housing and a left-thumb activated high beam switch and right-thumb activated accessory driving light switch further enhance visibility. The instrumentation is classic clock-style that complements the 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner S’s retro looks. Instruments include an analog speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge, as well as twin digital tripmeters and an odometer. The bright multireflector headlight, LED taillight, and amber turn signals housed behind clear lenses, further lend to the bike’s custom looks.

The 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner S is powered by a 113-cubic-inch (1854cc) air-cooled, pushrod 48-degree V-twin engine that not only provides for good performance, but also enhances the bike’s massive look. Combustion efficiency is optimized thanks to four pushrod-activated valves and two spark plugs for each cylinder. The cylinders themselves are ceramic-composite plated which allows for superior heat dissipation. The forged pistons are cooled by oil jets, which help ensure reliability and engine longevity. The twin-bore fuel injection system is computer controlled and monitors multiple engine parameters to calculate a mixture that’s perfect in all conditions. The Stratoliner’s engine has a unique jewel-like appearance that’s the result of a special custom machining of the cooling fin.

Despite the 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner’s massive size, its aluminum frame is light but rigid, with just a few welds, resulting in the bike’s smooth and clean looks. Up front 46mm fork tubes provide for an excellent ride and further enhance the bike’s appearance. The Stratoliner’s single shock is tucked out of sight and outfitted with adjustable spring preload that helps maintain the smoothness of the ride, even under varying weight loads. The handlebar is thick and richly chromed with the switchgear wiring concealed on the inside. The bike’s teardrop fuel tank is flangeless and has the capacity for 4.5 gallons of fuel. Meanwhile polished 12-spoke wheels evoke a retro thick spoke look, despite the modern tubeless radial tires they are outfitted with. The front brake master cylinder is chromed and offers excellent stopping power as well as great style. Power is efficiently driven to the rear wheel thanks to a strong-and-light belt drive mechanism. Floating floorboards and an adjustable heel/toe shifter combine to further enhance rider comfort. The bike’s leather-covered, locking, hard saddlebags can be easily detached for cleaning. There is also a quick-removable windshield that can be locked into place along with a detachable passenger backrest for added comfort and security. If you’re looking for a powerful, stylish, and expansive cruiser for tooling around town or taking long trips down the open highway, the 2013 Yamaha Stratoliner S is worth looking into. With looks, engine power, and ample comforts, the Stratoliner is arguably one of the leading models in its class. You can also choose from the Star® Accessories Catalog, which is full of high-quality parts that enable riders to customize the Stratoliner to suit their individual tastes.
