2012 Zero X

2012 Zero X Base

Intro

The street-legal trail bike, the 2012 Zero X, has most of the accoutrements of its trail-only counterpart, but is available exclusively with lights. The 2012 Zero X has 33 percent more overall power than ever before, and can hit a top speed of 54 MPH. While it may not have the same acceleration off the line as the dirt-only model, the Zero X opens up a whole host of trail riding options with the ability to ride through city streets. Direct drive gearing and weight-optimized components create a strong and swift machine that aggressively flies up hills, soars over jumps, and zips along streams.

The heart of the motorcycle, the revolutionary Z-force lithium-ion power pack, and strikingly efficient motor are tailored to give a quick boost at the flick of your wrist. For those who want longer ride-times, the aluminum Zero-X frame is designed for quick power pack swaps. The taillights, headlights, side mirrors, and turn signals give you all of the safety tools that make this bike the street-legal beast that it is.

One of the drawbacks is the riding position. The design of the body to accommodate the electric engine has created a unique overall position, which may make some riders a bit uncomfortable, but shouldn’t be a problem over time. The seat comes a bit rigid, but it’s nothing that won’t soften with a few rides. For the rider that needs to get around town but likes to have a little fun, too, the 2012 Zero X puts the best of both worlds in the palms of your hands.
