Kymco, is a Taiwanese company that has already established itself as a producer of reliable, fun, and sporty scooters. In fact, Kymco has been manufacturing reliable, high-quality, power sport vehicles for decades, after breaking off from Honda years ago. With its recent focus on scooters Kymco is now one of the largest scooter manufacturers in the world. Kymco has steadily grown and improved their scooter since entering the U.S. market, and the People GT is an excellent example of that fact.
The 2012 Kymco People GT comes in the 200i and the 300i models and is Kymco’s premier model. The model sizes correspond with their engine sizes. The 200i comes with a 200cc, single-cylinder, four stroke, EFI SOHC four-valve engine and the 300i boasts a 300cc, four-stroke, EFI SOHC, four-valve engine capable of reaching speeds of 70 mph. Twenty-nine horses run to the rear wheel by way of an automatic CVT (Continually Variable Transmission). While the 200i has plenty of power to get you around town, the Kymco GT 300i is a big-wheeled scooter with a step-through design and no hump or windshield. The suspension consists of adjustable shocks in the rear and telescopic forks in the front. These features give this scooter the power and flexibility to handle city streets. It also comes equipped with a halogen headlight and LED taillights. There is a 12-volt accessory outlet for charging a cell phone, GOS, or some other such device. The underseat storage can fit most helmets and the top box can store a helmet or jacket.
Thanks to a smooth transmission and a relatively powerful engine, for a scooter, the People provides an excellent ride and is a great value for riders who want a bit more than a put-put scooter.
