2012 Husqvarna TE 310

Intro

The 2012 Husqvarna TE is a street-legal off-road bike that comes in four models: TE 250, TE 310, TE 449, and the powerful TE 511. This bike is able to be ridden off-road on rugged dirt roads and mountain sides, although, thanks to its street legal rating it can be ridden on regular roads as well.

This dual sport bike has been given premium Kayaba shocks that offer stiffer suspension settings on both shocks and the front Kayaba inverted fork. A new Leo Vince exhaust system that improves air flow, which increases power as well. The engine on all four models is a compact, lightweight single-cylinder, four-stroke motor with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four titanium valves. Even though the displacement is significantly smaller than the average for dual sport motorcycles with the TE 250 at 249.5cc, TE 350 at 349.5cc, TE 449 at 449.6cc, and the TE 511 at 477.5cc; the bike is only 247 pounds which is approximately 38 percent lighter than other similar bikes. This translates to a premium dual sport motorcycle that has the power and agility to get around obstacles and have fun at the same time. Riders who frequently need to transition from off-road conditions to city streets and roads during the same ride should consider the dual-sport line-up offered by Husqvarna.

New For 2012
  • All four TE models receive new reinforced all-black chromoly frames, silver rims, upgraded suspension, and a styling refresh.
  • The 48mm open-cartridge Kayaba fork is stiffened up with revised damping for a comfortable and capable ride on road and trail.
  • The TE250 and TE310 are both upgraded to the Kayaba shock.
  • New in distinguishing the 250 from its larger TE310 sibling is a lower seat height. The Kayaba fork and shock on the TE250 are both shortened, resulting in a more user-friendly seat height approximately 50mm lower than last year’s.
  • Slightly lower saddle height on the TE449 and TE511, both of which receive a 4mm shorter Kayaba shock.
  • Designed specifically to complement the CTS (Coaxial Traction System), the upgraded rear suspension improves the handling characteristic and overall balance of the 449 and 511 chassis. On the front end, the fork valving is more aggressive for even better off-road performance.
  • The TE250 and TE310 share a number of upgrades including improved exhaust and new frames. In striking red and black color schemes, the smaller bore TE models (250 and 310) are outfitted with more rigid frames, which complement the revised suspension and combine stability with responsiveness.
  • New exhaust systems deliver improved performance across the board, polishing up the power delivery on the 250 and 310 TE motorcycles.
