The 2012 California Scooter Co Military Series scooter is a smaller version of the iconic mustang motorcycle that was in production from the early 1940s to the mid 1960s. The style of motorcycle was pioneered by Gladden Products Corporation and it was to resemble the military style “chopper” motorcycles that came to the U.S. after the second world war. The Military Series scooter offers a smaller but iconic Army designed scooter, reminiscent of their bigger motorcycle counterparts.
The 2012 California Scooter Co Military Series scooter is powered four-stroke, overhead valve (OHV), single-cylinder engine with 149cc of displacement. This engine pumps out approximately 13.3 horsepower and 9.1 lb-ft of torque however it has an estimated top speed of nearly 70 miles per hour (mph) so do not let quaint amount of horsepower deceive you.
The suspension uses a telescopic fork in the front with a rigid steel swing arm in the rear. The scooter uses a two-piston caliper with a 7.5 inch hydraulic disc in both the front and the rear, yielding a sufficient amount of power for sudden or high speed stops. The tires are 400""x12"" and four-ply for added miles and strength. The seat is a wide leather seat with two cushion springs. It comes standard with an electric starter but also has a kick start option for emergencies. It uses a five-speed manual transmission that is both reliable and keeps the noise to a minimum. Lastly, weighing in at a mere 240 pounds means this scooter gets up to 90 miles per gallon (mpg), letting you ride more and fill up less.
This scooter does a great job at keeping the Mustang motorcycle style alive and with the plethora of options of accessories for additional customization; you can really make this scooter your own.
