The 2011 Zero X Dirt is the world’s cleanest dirt bike, while the bike itself may get a little dirty, it produce no direct greenhouse gases. This dirt bike is the first of its kind and gives the rider comparable riding features like those seen in normal carbureted dirt bikes. The Zero X Dirt has the handling that is similar to its gas-powered counterpart as well as the agility needed to take on courses that traditional dirt bikes ride. It has a very clean and smooth look to it, giving slight notice that it is not your typical gas-powered dirt bike. However, it still maintains the traditional dirt bike form of a long sweeping rear tire and suspension, high handle bars and high seat.
The Zero X Dirt bike uses a high efficiency, forced air-cooled, axial flux permanent magnet, brushed electric motor that produces approximately 25 electric horses and nearly 50 lb-ft of torque. This may seem like it is lacking a bit of power which it may be compared to it gas-powered alternative but the bike only comes in at 185 pounds which makes the missing horsepower much less noticeable. The bike also has no clutch since there is no shifting needed. The transmission is a single-speed system that gives the rider a decent amount of torque from start to max speed. This is also convenient since a decrease in moving parts means increased reliability and life span. The braking system provides a good amount of braking power with the two-piston calipers in the front with 8.66 inch discs in the front and a single-piston caliper with a 8.66 inch disc in the rear.
The Zero X comes in two versions, the X Sport and the X Extreme. The main difference is engine horsepower and torque output as well as an alternate suspension.
The Zero X Dirt gives the rider instant acceleration at a weight of only 185 pounds. This bike is a high performance electric motorcycle that uses Z-Force technology to boast 25 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque. This motorcycle is very stealthy and will have you climbing mountains, cutting through streams and hitting jumps like never before. The Zero X is built from the ground up, meaning every part was meticulously chosen for quality and function. The custom-valved suspension, direct drive gearing and weight optimized components give riders unparalleled control of the terrain.
Lightweight, silent and quick, the 2011 Zero X Dirt lets you ride the trails with new possibilities and in ways that you couldn’t before.
