2011 Yamaha V Star 1300

2011 Yamaha V Star 1300 Base

If you’re looking for a classic midsize cruiser that’s as authentic as you can get, then the 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 just might be the bike for you. Available in two sub-models, the 1300 Base and the road trip-ready Tourer, the V-Star 1300 offers unbeatable comfort and class-leading performance, both of which you’ll be thrilled to have on extended trips.

The Yamaha V-Star 1300 is powered by a 1304cc, fuel injected, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, 80 cubic-inch, V-Twin engine, with 36mm intake and 32mm exhaust valves. The bike’s single springs are set at 20 degrees for maximum power and torque. The 1300 also sports 100mm ceramic composite-plated cylinders, which are designed to allow for greater heat dissipation, while at the same time reducing the bike's weight, and prolonging the life of the cylinders.

The 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 has a transistor controlled ignition (TCI) system, a five-speed transmission with multi-plate wet clutch, and a low-maintenance belt driven final drive. It’s built upon a classic double cradle frame chassis, with a telescopic front fork suspension with 5.3 inches of travel and a rear monoshock with 4.3 inches of travel. The braking system is equally excellent and consists of dual 298mm discs on the front and a single 298mm disc on the rear.

Everything about the 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 indicates that the Japanese manufacturer put its best into this bike. From its 3-D fuel tank emblems and class-leading fit and finish, to the convenient under-seat helmet holder and extra-wide front brake and clutch levers, the 1300 is designed from the ground up to provide exceptional comfort and support, while looking like a dream on the road. Even the bike's exterior is designed for driver and passenger comfort. The 1300 has thickly padded seats and an easy-to-read instrument panel that includes a full complement of instruments. The bike’s generous 4.9-gallon teardrop fuel tank has a flush-mounted filler cap for a clean, seamless design, and the fully chromed, 60/55-watt, high intensity, fully adjustable, halogen headlight enables high visibility in all driving conditions, especially when driving the bike at night.

The Tourer edition features several road-trip conveniences that help this model deliver the ultimate roadster experience, including an easy-to-remove windshield, generous storage room with its lockable saddlebags, and a plush passenger backrest. With both models offering a fuel economy of 42 miles per gallon, regardless of which 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 you choose, you’ll be able to enjoy driving many miles of blacktop before having to stop for fuel.
