2011 Yamaha TW 200

Intro

The 2011 Yamaha TW 200 is an adventure-styled motorcycled produced in Japan. It follows along the same classic design inside and out as past models. The large tires deliver excellent tractions both on the road and off the road, and help to keep the ride smooth across an array of different terrains. Additionally, the large wheels have become the distinctive design for the TW 200. Being a classic motorcycle by name and design, there are little changes from past models, but it remains one of the easiest bikes for new riders to climb on and take off. Additionally, it remains a favorite among veteran riders, especially when a small bike is desired. It may not be ideal for the interstate, but it will do for a small stretch if the need arises.

The TW 200 features electric starting with a single, easy-to-use push button ignition. The 2011 Yamaha TW 200 features a 196-cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The five-speed transmission allows for easy and smooth shifting, and the internal engine counter balancer minimizes the vibrations to keep the ride from sounding and feeling harsh. The Yamaha TW 200 features a telescopic front fork suspension with 6.3 inches of travel, and the rear features a lightweight box section swing arm and single rear shock with 5.9 inches of travel. The long, motocross-styled seat allows for easy balance and comfortable seating, and the wide front fender helps keep mud and dirt away from the driver. Body construction is done with plastic, and the seat is upholstered in vinyl. The instrument panel includes a speedometer and odometer, but there's little else in the way of gauges and instruments other than the optional resettable hour meter.

Other standard features include Enduro-style, 60/55 watt headlamps and frame-mounted passenger footpegs for a second rider. Overall, the 2011 Yamaha TW 200 is one of the most comfortable and cost efficient dual-purpose bikes available on the market. The ease of riding and great amount of balance and comfort makes this a great choice for a beginning rider or the veteran rider looking for a new toy. The low weight of the bike makes it easy to handle for smaller riders, and the estimated 78 miles per gallon for the fuel economy makes this one of the most efficient bikes on the market. While the TW is great for many terrains, it is absolutely a champion when it comes to traveling over sand. At the end of the day, the relatively low price sticker with the incredibly versatile abilities of the 2011 Yamaha TW makes it a popular choice amongst all riders.
