The 2011 Saxon Motorcycle Hotrod Sceptre is a chopper-inspired, cruiser style motorcycle. The Hotrod Sceptre combines superb handling with clean lines and a fully customized design. As far as customized cruisers go, the Hotrod Sceptre offers great value with premium performance. Saxon Motorcycles specializes in delivering fully finished, customized bikes to customers wanting to buy and ride rather than spending months customizing a bike for themselves.
Saxon Motorcycles is not exactly a household name. Nevertheless, this manufacturer has been producing outstanding custom bikes since 2004. Operating out of Gilbert, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix), Saxon Motorcycles first introduced the Sceptre in 2005 and added the Hotrod moniker for 2011. Short of having a cable TV program, custom bike makers have had to grow based on the quality, looks, and performance of their bikes. In a very short period of time (and without the benefit of a cable program), Saxon Motorcycles has grown to offer eight different models. This growth is a testament to the type of world class custom bikes built at Saxon Motorcycles. Saxon sells its cruisers through an elite group of dealers in the United States and Canada. Saxon also has distributers in Europe, South Africa, and Australia.
Saxon Motorcycles equips the 2011 Sceptre with a 1573-cc, 45-degree, V-twin engine. The air-cooled engine is matched to a right-side-mounted, six-speed manual transmission. The Hotrod Sceptre can be factory customized with a myriad of paint schemes, parts, and packages. Saxon even offers two additional engines should the Base S&S, 96-cubic-inch TUV engine (European) not suffice. An optional S&S, 111-cubic-inch engine (California) or an S&S, V100, electronic fuel injection (EFI) engine can be fitted to the Sceptre. A digital speedometer with an integrated tachometer and a solid paint scheme comes standard. If a solid paint scheme isn’t on the agenda, Saxon offers five levels of paint finishes. These levels start with standard two-toned finishes and go all the way up to unique, made to the customer’s order finishes. The standard 80-spoke wheels look great, but if these don’t fit a customer’s style, Saxon offers 10 more exclusive billet wheel choices. The Eclipse cut wheels are cut, polished, and then re-cut on the edges to bring out the aluminum’s luster. These wheels will definitely fill other riders with cruiser envy.
