Intro

The 2011 Husqvarna CR 150 is a cross-range dirt bike offered by the Swedish manufacturer. Now a subsidiary of BMW, Husqvarna has had a strong presence in Enduro and Motocross championships, especially with their small, two-stroke, 125-cc bikes. Since they entered the market in 1988, their models have become technical benchmarks for other motocross and enduro bike manufacturers. For 2011, the CR 150 gets a number of minor and major technical changes based on what the company learned during the European motocross championships. One big technical change made this year is the newly designed chassis. Most of its modifications are under the cradle, providing a more streamlined design and also increased ground clearance from last year. The engine mounting is also very different, with new cylinder heads and reinforced. The air filter has changed too, with a new design that makes It more water resistant.

The wave-type disc brakes and polished hubs are also new to the 2011 Husqvarna CR. The exhaust on the engine has a new muffler and the clutch has the same housing used on higher-end TC and TE 250 models. This makes the clutch a lot more efficient and robust. The bike also gets some changes in terms of looks. The liveries are redesigned to follow the design used in all two-stroke and four-stroke models from Husqvarna, with mold graphics integrated straight into the plastic.

A lot of racing organizations allow 125-cc bikes and 144-cc bikes to go up against each other to keep smaller displacement two-stroke models competitive with their four-stroke versions. The 2011 Husqvarna CR is designed to take full advantage of this and deliver a potent power plant with superb suspension components. All of its technical modifications make the CR 150 a great MX contender.
