2011 Honda Shadow

2011 Honda Shadow Aero

Intro

Offered in three models, the Aero, Phantom, and the RS, the 2011 Honda Shadow is a versatile sport-cruiser that includes all the reliability and functionality consumers have come to expect from a Honda motorcycle. All three models are powered by a 745-cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that provides an ample amount of power to produce a solid ride on city streets with a bit more fun that might be expected from such a modest engine. New for this year, each model receives Programmed Fuel Injection, which ups the motorcycles performance from its predecessors. Each offering its own unique styling and color schemes, the Honda Shadow is an enticing bike no matter which of the three models are chosen.

The Honda Shadow Aero features retro-inspired styling, including lots of chrome accents such as engine sidecovers, the rear brake pedal, the cylinder-head cover, and more. Its low seat height rounds out its laid back cruiser persona nicely. The Shadow Phantom features a blacked-out styling, including fenders, rims, twin shocks, headlight, and more. Its chrome spokes and exhaust pipes are the only major exceptions. Its rather muscular front end is augmented by its fat front tire which offers excellent road grip on winding roads, and adds to the Phantom’s overall aggressive appearance. The Shadow RS tips its hat to the Honda RS racing bike of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Although inspired by the flat track racing bike, the RS is equipped with the same cruiser motor that powers all the Shadow models.

A cruiser with some sporty performance to add some flavor to the ride, the 2011 Honda Shadow offers three appealing styles to suit a wide range of consumers. Whether opting for the opulence of the Phantom, the flat tracker look of the RS, or the retro style of the Aero, the Shadow offers a solid road performance for jaunts around town or for longer highway journeys. While not the fastest motorcycle on the road and perhaps not the most appealing bike for the bike aficionado, the Shadow offers a relatively economical way to get around town in style, with excellent handling especially in urban dwellings. Loaded with features and offering a wide range of available accessories to spruce up the bike, the Shadow also features all the quality and reliability that Honda has come to be known for over the years. A great buy for first-time motorcycle buyers, the 2011 Honda Shadow appeals in a variety of ways, making for a competitive product in today’s demanding market.
