The Genuine Scooter Co has offered the International line as one of its most popular scooters for over a decade. In the early 2000s, they split the line into three segments to offer a smaller 50cc and a midrange 125cc. In 2008, the increased the 12-cc to 150cc and added another to make the lineup triplets. The Italia, the 150-cc option, became the most popular seller and is the scooter usually still called International without a qualifier.
The International line is popular for its Italian looks, great ergonomics, and fun ride. Competing most notably with the Vespa series, they have won respect for their great style coupled with durability and practicality. For the rider, they sport a great bit of handling and the 150-cc model is not speed limited to low-speed operation, adding to its versatility.
Most of the International's appeal comes from its genuine Italian design and great two-tone paint options – something few others can offer. Rather than festooning the scooter in chrome, the Genuine Scooter Co instead opted to use style cues and paint to set off the look of the Italia. This gives it a more realistic retro appeal and simplifies maintenance and upkeep.
