The 2011 Ducati Diavel is a motorcycle that burst fully formed onto the motorcycle scene. Seen for the first time in 2011, this motorcycle line immediately carved out its own unique niche in the standard bike sphere. The Diavel’s appearance itself is gripping. Fiercely contoured and demonically aggressive, yet with a hint of elegance, this motorcycle is a real eye-catcher wherever it goes. Though it is technically a cruiser, its handling has the dexterity and power of a sport bike, with an impressively smooth ride and unusually comfortable seating. No matter how much power is unleashed, however, the motorcycle remains crisply responsive. The exhaust and airbox amplify the effectiveness of the Testastretta 11 degree engine, adding 12 additional horsepower over previous configurations. Horsepower is controllable between 100 and 162 by choosing one of three engine maps – Urban, Touring, and Sports. Strong suspension and highly effective brakes meld with the dynamism and force of the 2011 Ducati Diavel’s performance to create a worthy challenge to sports bikes in an enhanced cruiser format. The Ducati Traction Control (DTC) is a smart system controlling the spin of the rear wheel for greater safety.

The 2011 Ducati Diavel’s designers spared no effort to make the motorcycle as functional and yet as stylishly athletic as possible. Many high-tech flourishes are found throughout the design. Hands-free ignition at a range of six to seven feet is provided by a keyless fob, while an electronic lock is engaged by pressing the ignition-off button twice. LED lights are strategically places for maximum visibility. An LCD display shows speed, rpm, temperature, and other crucial data, while a TFT (thin film transistor) serves as an interface for more advanced electronics. The Diavel is a powerful, savagely handsome, precision engineered blend of cruiser comfort and sports bike performance which successfully takes motorcycling in a fresh, intriguing direction.
