2010 Vectrix VX 1

Intro

The 2010 Vectrix VX scooter bike is made in United States. This ""green"" vehicle is manufactured by Vectrix, an electric vehicle company based in Middletown, Rhode Island, United States. The first Vectrix zero-emission vehicle was introduced in 2007 and the Vectrix maxi-size scooter is the first commercially available high-performance electric scooter. Requiring no gas or oil, the original Vectrix VX-1 scooter had a top speed of 62 mph and a range of 35-55 miles. The Vectrix VX model was first launched in 2008, and the 2010 Vectrix VX model is a carryover of the 2008 model.

The 2010 Vectrix VX looks and feels like any other comfortable large scooter. The VX -1 was introduced in 2008 as an all-electric Vectrix VX-1 that uses no gas at all. Unlike other hybrid and electric scooter models, the VX-1 electric scooter can actually reach speeds of up to 62 mph, cruising along steep roads and terrains and also along busy freeways with relative ease. There is absolutely no power loss, even under weight. Thus, we can confidently say that the Vectrix VX-1""s acceleration is unparalleled. The Vectrix is undoubtedly one of the faster off-the-line scooters.

Some features of this eco-friendly scooter are that the 2010 Vectrix VX -1, a touring scooter style motorcycle is equipped with 30020 cc electric motor engine and a standard speed automatic transmission. It has hydraulic disc brakes that aid in stopping the scooter when required. It comes standard with a speed transmission. The vehicle’s speed capability is over 60 mph (97 km/h) and 50 mph (80 km/h) is reached in a just under 7 seconds. The maximum torque available is from zero rpm, which is a feature of all electric motors. The scooter has less than 250 parts, as compared to 2,500 parts which is for a more typically powered scooter which has a speed range of up to 65 miles (105 km) at 25 mph (40 km/h). It has a telescopic fork front suspension while the rear Suspension has a twin sided swing arm. The VX -1 has front hydraulic disc brakes and rear hydraulic disc brakes. The VX -1 weighs about 515 lbs. and has about 50014 inches of ground clearance. The Vectrix scooter uses NiMH batteries and the total battery life is about 10 years and about 1,500 recharges. The 125 volt battery pack has a capacity of 3.7 kWh and it can be recharged to up to about 80 percent in two hours from any standard domestic power socket. In addition to this, the battery can also be partially recharged through regenerative braking which is also one of its unique features.

When we compare the Vectrix VX model with some of its competitors, it definitely looks and rides like a big, smooth maxi scooter. Its 26 horsepower is similar to that of a 250 cc scooter, and its top speed is similar to that of a 150 cc scooter.

The Vectrix VX-1 is definitely the best eco-friendly, touring scooter style motorcycle you can buy. Since this is a ""green"", hybrid, electric scooter and does not use gas, it does help ease gas bills to a certain extent. The Vectrix VX-1 electric scooter also keeps good pace on the freeway, and its solid weight and accurate handling enthuses and builds confidence in the rider.
