2010 Schwinn Valo 50

Intro

The 2010 Schwinn Valo is a 50cc entry-level scooter. Color options include bright metallic orange or green, sporty aluminum wheels, space-age looking halogen headlights, and trendy body styling – all of which combine to further enhance the younger vibes this bike exudes.

The 2010 Valo has a small amount of lockable storage space under the two-up vinyl seat, and a top speed of 40 miles per hour. Storage capacity is just over a half cubic foot, including a miniscule rear rack, and an optional paint-matched bolt-on cargo box.

Fuel economy is about 100 mpg combined city/highway, which will make trips to the gas station infrequent. However, when fuel does start to run low, you can monitor the fuel level with the fuel gauge that is located on the Valo’s instrument cluster. Most competing scooters only feature trip-meters, so this is certainly a plus for the Valo. instrument cluster also includes a speedometer.

The straight-up position of the seat is actually quite comfortable, with a versatile seat-to-handlebar position to ensure the driver is content. The floorboard footing is small, but adequate. There is also a foot peg for a passenger. The carbureted, single overhead cam 50cc engine has good pick-up when driving around the city, and the belt-driven continuously-variable (CVT) transmission shifts smoothly. Starting is simple with an electric start, along with the kick-start option if battery runs low. The hydraulic disc and drum type rear brake ensure easy stopping.

This American-made scooter is just what the teacher ordered for everyday running around town or campus.
