All the rider has to do is twist the throttle and go; the scooter will immediately zoom down the street. Many riders have been able to get the R5i up to 30 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour. The R9i can get up to 65 miles per hour. Neither trim is equipped with a governor. The 2010 Peirspeed Laser gets about 100 miles per gallon, the R9i gets about 85 miles per gallon.
