2010 KYMCO Yager

2010 KYMCO Yager GT 200i

Intro

The Kymco Yager was introduced to the United States in 2010 by Kwang Yang Motor Co. (Kymco), the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan, manufacturing more than one million motorcycles and scooters each year at four plants around the world. Known in Taiwan as Dink, the Yager is a good vehicle to ride around town or down the freeway where speed is essential. Riders who scoot around town on errands will appreciate the Yager’s storage capabilities. The under-seat storage is big enough to hold a full-face helmet, with room left over. There’s a hook under the steering column for grocery bags. Heavy shoppers who need more storage can put a case (sizes ranging from 26 to 45 liters) on the rear luggage rack. Digital instruments and a clock make this scooter rider-friendly.

Although the Yager has been called an entry-level scooter, beginners could have problems navigating because of its size, a hefty 308 pounds. They also may not be ready to handle freeway riding on the Yager, since it is capable of going more than 70 mph on its 174.5 cc engine. Once newbies get some riding under their belts, however, this picture should change. Riders say the 2010 Yager GT 200i is a solid, dependable ride that will get you where you want to go. The 2.9-gallon gas tank can go as far as 200 miles; the scooter has a trip-meter to keep track of miles between fill-ups. The gas gauge is divided into four sections, with a section going dark when a quarter tank of gas is used up. It has a remote fuel door release. Available with both electric- and kick- starts, the Yager has an anti-theft cover for the ignition switch.

The Yager comes in blue-black, gray or light blue. The frame is steel; the bodywork is plastic. The Yager features sporty styling, with a front end that is steeply sloped. Passengers will appreciate the backrest on the vinyl one-piece seat since it will make their ride more comfortable.
