2010 KYMCO Sento 50

Intro

The 2010 Kymco Sento is another Kwang Yang Motor Co. (Kymco) scooter that features retro styling combined with modern engine technology. This 49 cc four-stroke comes with an analog speedometer with fuel gauge, foldable rear foot pegs, electric start, and a front disc brake. The Taiwan manufacturer introduced the Sento to the United States in 2009. The Sento has the same classic look as the Sting, another 50 cc scooter from Kymco, but has a quieter motor and traditional 10-inch wheels compared to the Sting‘s 12-inchers. The Sento would work well for short riders because of its lower seat height (29.1 inches), while this feature could mean uncomfortable riding for taller riders as space to put their knees in a comfortable position is limited.

The Sento is a good entry-level scooter. It also would work well for an environmentally-concerned rider who just wants to scoot around town, as the Sento does not go fast enough for highway driving. The fuel cap is under the vinyl one-piece seat, which is roomy enough to hold a helmet when it’s not in use; the rider also can use the helmet hook if the under-seat storage compartment is filled. Specs say the Sento seat is big enough for two, but photographs show only room for the driver. Officially, fuel economy is estimated at 87, but some riders report up to 100 mpg under optimum conditions.

The Sento has spiffy two-tone paint combinations, coming in light blue, light brown, or rose, each with white. Sales in the United States and Canada were discontinued in 2012.
