2010 Ducati Monster 796 ABS

Intro

The Monster is arguably Ducati’s most famous model bike, and is now an even more evolved motorcycle. Much of this comes down to the riding experience that the new naked bike delivers, and here, the tubular steel trellis frame needs to be mentioned. The main section is shared with the 1098R and linked to the cast-aluminum sub-frame, while the swing arm is brand new, with a foot-peg hanger included. This shows how Ducati is leading the industry in establishing the standard, when it comes to matters of handling and comfort. The seat is positioned at 30.3 inches from the ground, and the handlebars are brought closer to the rider, while the foot-pegs allow the rider to hug the tank better with their knees.

With the 2010 Ducati Monster, and all of the available sub models, the key element is the new air-cooled, 696cc, L-twin with two valves per cylinder Desmodromic. This manages to retain the bore (3.47 inches) and stroke (2.25 inches) of the previous generation’s model. The Monster also features a modified cylinder and cylinder head, as well as larger valves, and an overall simplified design with more cooling fins for greater effectiveness. The performance figures have been raised to 80 horse power at 9000 rpm, and 51 foot to pounds of torque at 7750 rpm. Compared to the 695 engine, the new generation is smoother, and more reliable. For the best ride in the mountains, on the highway, at the track, or touring the city, the Ducati Monster offers something for all these options.

The fuel-injected engine of the Ducati Monster is a Siemens electronic fuel injection system. The dashboard offers speedometer, tachometer, speed odometer, revs, time, scheduled maintenance warning, oil temperature, trip fuel, air temperature, lap time, low oil pressure warning, fuel level, fuel reserve, neutral, turn signals, over-rev and immobilizer gauges. The Monster is ready for the Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA), which provides the rider with crucial information regarding throttle opening, vehicle speed, engine rpm, engine temperature, distance travelled, laps, and lap times. If you're looking for a bike that will contribute to making a better rider out of anyone who gets on board, then this is the bike for you.

The gas tank on the 2010 Ducati Monster is situated almost an inch lower, thereby making the seat feel lower, and bringing the rider even closer to the handle bars. This means the rider will stay in proper control over the motorcycle at all times. The gas tank is made of a high-quality plastic material, which can be easily swapped out with another when damaged, or when the rider simply wishes to switch out colors on their stylish Italian ride.

Looking at the 2010 Ducati Monster, one sees a stylistically enhanced motorcycle, with everything about the new bike appearing sharp, handsome, and more inviting for the discerning rider who wants to ride a bike that turns heads while on the road, and at stops. Everything from the headlight and signal lights, mirrors, instrument cluster, and the aggressive tail, featuring an LED taillight, signals style. The three-spoke rims come in black, and look sexy as they blend in perfectly with the overall design of the Monster, which comes in Red, Matte Black, and Pearl White colors. If you are the type of enthusiast who loves to tinker and upgrade, the customization possibilities on the 2010 Ducati Monster will keep you more than busy in the shop, garage, or drive-way.
