2009 Yamaha Vino 125

Intro

The 2009 Yamaha Vino offers an intoxicating blend of neo-retro fashion and modern scooter technology in an upscale scooter that puts the fun in functional. Available in the Classic 50 and the sufficiently more powerful 125, the Vino delivers a responsive ride that's both comfortable and fuel-efficient.

The Yamaha Vino's cosmopolitan style gives it a look that pays homage to the Italian scooters of old, and with its chromed speedometer, mirrors, handlebar, and cast-aluminum/alloy three-spoke wheels, this scooter looks as good as it rides. The Vino offers both rider and passenger convenience, and the wide, thickly padded two-up seat ensures maximum comfort for both. Underneath the seat, the lockable compartment is roomy enough to store a spare full-face helmet, while the rugged rack on the rear of the bike is more than sturdy enough for carrying a sack of groceries, or other items.

The 2009 Yamaha Vino features an open, step-through, steel-tube frame that makes mounting and dismounting the bike an extremely fluid experience. Meanwhile, the telescopic front fork suspension's 2.3 inches of travel and the rear single-shock suspension's 2.1 inches of travel effectively absorb every bump in the road so your rides are always smooth as silk. The Yamaha Vino's chassis and suspension are finished off with reliable 180mm front disc brakes and super-sticky 3.50-10 front and rear tires.

Under the seat, the Yamaha Vino is peppy and spry. Available in 50cc and 124cc engine models, both feature SOHC, four-stroke, two-valve power with exceptional fuel economy (110 mpg and 96 mpg respectively). The bike's forced-air cooling system keeps the engine running cool and under control, even when idling at a red light. The V-belt transmission is fully automatic, so operating the bike is as easy as twisting the throttle.

The Yamaha Vino has an innovative electric push button start with a CDI ignition system that delivers a precise, high-voltage spark for reliable and seamless engine performance. The scooter's Mikuni BS26 carburetor with automatic choke and heater help ensure reliable cold weather starts. It's also outfitted with a convenient kick-starter as a backup.

Yamaha gives the 2009 Vino a host of rider-friendly features, such as an easy-to-read instrument panel with an electronic fuel gauge; a large, 12V, 35/35-watt, multi-reflector headlight; a highly visible, 8/27-watt, multi-reflector taillight; a wide sculpted front apron; a full-size floorboard; and a steering lock. Designed with comfort and practicality in mind, as well as a hefty supply of classic styling accents, the 2009 Yamaha Vino is a scooter that's as economical, as it is fun to ride.
