Built on the performance base of its highly successful tribute to a bygone era, the GTS 250, the 2009 Vespa GTV takes retro styling even further. The Vespa GTV is the first modern Vespa to use the front mudguard-mounted headlamp design employed by Vespa in its very earliest designs. Much like the 2009 GTS, the GTV, with its 12-inch alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, and liquid-cooled engine, marries technical advancement with proven style, for the rider demanding a combination of classic looks and modern performance.
The classic-looking 2009 Vespa GTV employs an automatic transmission and an eco-friendly, 250cc, high-performance, four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine, capable of speeds in excess of 76 mph, while boasting responsive handling both in town and on the highway, and a estimated fuel economy of 65 to 75mpg. The performance package is rounded out by a single-sided trailing arm front suspension with dual chamber hydraulic shocks with a coaxial spring suspension up front and a helical spring, adjustable, four-position preload suspension with two dual-effect hydraulic shock absorbers in the rear.
In addition to the retro feel of the mudguard-positioned headlight, the 2009 Vespa GTV employs a naked handlebar design and a genuine leather, dual-seat saddle, with under-seat storage large enough for a helmet. The integration of a round analog speedometer with a modern digital display carries the marriage of classic design elements with modern performance advantages expected by the Vespa enthusiast. Available colors are Portofino Green and Siena Ivory.
