The 2009 Peirspeed Delivery – imported by United States-based Peirspeed from Taiwanese manufacturer Taiwan Golden Bee – is a commercial motor scooter for the 2009 model year. Aptly named, the bike is tagged as the ""Ultimate City Delivery Machine."" The 2009 Delivery is available in two versions: the 50 and the 150.
The 2009 Peirspeed Delivery models are named after the displacement of their engines. The base model, the Delivery 50, is referred to as 49cc, after its engine displacement of 49 cubic centimeters (cc). The upper-level model is the Delivery 150, which has an engine displacement of 151 cubic centimeters. Thus the Delivery 50 and the Delivery 150 are sometimes referred to as 49cc and 151cc, respectively. Each Delivery scooter is powered by a single-cylinder engine that features an air cooler to cool down the hot parts of the engine and thus prevent it from malfunction. Added with the engine is a Mikuni carburetor that is particularly useful during cold weather rides, and a muffler that integrates exhaust catalyst technology into the scooter to cut down air pollution.
However, certain configurations differ depending on 2009 Peirspeed Delivery scooter model. The engine on the Delivery 50 is a two-stroke that provides 4.9 horsepower (hp) at 7,500 revolutions per minute (rpm). The engine on the Delivery 150 has twice the number of strokes and generates 10.1 hp at the same rpm.
Each 2009 Peirspeed Delivery has its engine paired with a continuous variable transmission, or CVT. This particular gearbox is notable for the ability to shift through an infinite number of effective gear ratios. This translates into the engine running at its most efficient RPM, thus promoting better fuel efficiency. Although the 2009 Delivery has a peak gasoline capacity of 1.8 gallons, fuel economy is better with the 49cc, at 90 miles per gallon (mpg); the 151cc provides a fuel economy of 85 mpg.
The 2009 Peirspeed Delivery is distinctive in its orientation for commercial use. Placed behind the seat is a 150-liter locking cargo box that is ideal for activities like pizza delivery and grocery shopping. Customers buying the scooter for company use have a large display area on the box for placing a logo. The box helps form a padded back rest for the seat, which is big enough for just one person: the driver.
The 2009 Peirspeed Delivery is available as a red or a yellow bike. Rearview mirrors, halogen headlights and exhaust guard are standard on each scooter, and front and rear fenders accentuate the bike. Inverted front shocks and dual coil-over rear shocks provide a stable yet exciting ride. For braking, the Delivery uses a regular front-disc rear-drum brake layout. The front and rear wheels of the Delivery are fitted on sturdy 13-inch aluminum wheels.
Regarding the physical dimensions of the 2009 Peirspeed Delivery, the scooter has a total length of 75 inches, total width of 30 inches and total height of 45.3 inches, with a seat height of 31 inches. Weighing 231.5 lbs., the Delivery 50 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $2,499. The Delivery 150, weighing at a heavier 301 lbs., is more expensive, with an MSRP of $3,099.
