2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide Fat Bob

Intro

The 2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide represents one of the American company's many entries into the huge cruiser motorcycle market. Known for producing a wide array of customizable cruisers to a variety of riders, the Dyna Glide will appeal to any rider seeking a powerful cruiser motorcycle.

Up front, we find the 49mm telescopic fork has been lowered, while in the rear, the twin sided steel swing arm with dual adjustable shock absorbers with chromed rear shocks has been re-tuned to smooth out the bumps in the road. New 16-inch Fang wheels find their debut on the CVO Dyna Glide Fat Bob. These cast-aluminum wheels feature a black powder-coated slotted center that contrasts with a chrome rim, with ""fang"" inserts over each slot. The front and rear brake discs and sprockets are designed to complement the Fang wheels. The front wheel carries a Dunlop 130 mm tire, with a distinctive, blocky tread pattern, while the rear features 180mm Dunlop rubber.

A majority of the bike is covered in chrome, and the cockpit is no exception, as the CVO Fat Bob cockpit features a chrome pull-back riser. Harley-Davidson first introduced the FXEF Fat Bob motorcycle in 1979, taking styling cues from their Super Glide series. The aggressive drag style bike is best known for its twin round headlights, bulbous fuel tank, and ""fat"" tires. For 2009, CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations), the factory custom division of Harley-Davidson, brings us the CVO Dyna Glide, a bike with classic street looks and major modern innovation.

As with all bikes from the CVO line, the CVO Dyna Fat Bob features the Screamin Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine. Exclusive to CVO models, the Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) assists in creating 114 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 RPM. True to its drag bike nature, the Screamin Eagle is able to propel the massive 728-pound machine to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. The Heavy Breather intake filter features a special chrome end cap, a ""110 SE"" emblem, and a sculpted trim ring. The CVO Fat Bob-exclusive Tommy Gun 2-1-2 exhaust snakes around the engine, before exiting through chrome blunt-cut mufflers. The header pipes, which are exposed through the exhaust shield slots, are finished with a black coating. The powertrain is finished in CVO-exclusive granite powder coat with chrome covers, and features a new ""110 Cubic Inch"" badge on the chrome billet derby cover. The six-speed Cruise Drive transmission features a heavy-duty, self-adjusting clutch with hydraulic actuation. Shifting is smooth throughout the powerband, and even at highway speeds, RPMs remain low, and vibrations are very tolerable.

The 2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide comes equipped with an internally-wired handlebar, and chrome switch housing, hand levers, clutch, and brake master cylinders. Hand grips, forward-mounted footpegs, shifter peg, and brake pedal pad are all from the Ironside Collection. The new two-piece tank console is finished in chrome, and then is color-matched with the unique CVO medallion. CVO introduces a new material called Alcantara, which is used for the saddle on their version of the Dyna Fat Bob. Alcantara is a high-tech material that looks and feels like soft, natUral suede, but reaches new heights of durability and comfort. The seat is placed on top of the Bobtail rear fender, which features a dark tinted LED 3-bar brake light with a chrome slotted cover that gives the bike a real tough street look from the rear.

The Harley-Davidson CVO Dyna Glide is available in three color schemes: Sunrise Yellow Pearl with Platinum Quartz, Black Diamond with Fire Quartz, and Denim Granite with Electric Blue Fade – Harley’s first ever combination of matte and gloss paint finishes. Only 2450 CVO Dyna Fat Bob motorcycles were produced out of the Kansas City Vehicle Operations facility for the 2009 production run, attracting collectors and connoisseurs alike.
