2008 Schwinn Laguna 50

Intro

The 2008 Schwinn Laguna 50 scooter is a sport scooter made to ride the city streets in more style and comfort than most other 50cc scooters. Compared to the Schwinn Hope 50, it is designed to have better handling and response when ridden around town. The Laguna 50 is still a 50cc scooter, meaning that it is designed for beginner riders, those looking for a very safe bike, and those needing something primarily for traveling to and from work and for the occasional weekend errands. The single-cylinder, four-stroke engine produces approximately 2.7 horsepower and 4.8 lb-ft of torque. The intake valve manifold uses a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) design for a smooth supply of air. The carburetor is made from quality parts, making it durable and efficient at supplying the engine with fuel.

The continuously variable transmission is similar to most other small scooter transmissions, quietly shifting gears automatically to eliminate the need of a clutch. The suspension is a more sport design that most other scooter suspensions. It uses a 1.1 inch front telescopic for and a rear single sided swing arm with one shock absorber for added agility and quicker response than most other 50cc scooters offer. This suspension, combined with the comfortable seats, spacious floorboards and ergonomically positioned handlebars make for a nimble scooter that has better handling, most suitable for city riding.

Accessories

  • The Laguna 50 scooter has the ability to have a high quality, poly carbonate plastic windshield installed to the front of the scooter. It is made from durable plastic to keep larger debris and hazardous material away from your upper torso area. In addition to its protective qualities, it greatly reduces wind blast and wind noise while riding at higher speeds.
  • Side wind deflectors can be installed to the upper right and left hand portions of the oversized floorboard area. These additions give the rider more wind protection and reduce the various stress inducing conditions that can be overwhelming at times while riding on city streets.
  • An accessory passenger backrest that is made from high quality leather or vinyl and soft inner material provides a substantial amount of comfort and back support for the passenger.
  • A locking, weather resistant top case can be installed on the rear of the scooter but it will sacrifice the passenger seat. The sizes of top cases can range from 6.6 gallons up to 9 gallons for this 50cc scooter, providing up to more than double the original storage space that is available underneath the seat.
  • Various dust covers are available for the Schwinn Laguna 50 scooter. A general dust cover is more than enough protection from dust and dirt from storage in garages or other protected areas however if the scooter is to be stored outside, a premium dust cover made from water-proof material, reinforced stitching and lower drawstrings provide maximum protection from rain, snow, sleet, dirt and mud.
  • The majority of the smaller parts of the Laguna 50 have optional replacements that feature chrome or painted parts to add a little or a lot of customized parts.
  • Most parts include the parking lever, brake lever, handlebars, handlebar mounting clamps, handlebar mounting clamp covers, handlebar ends and mirrors.
