The Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 series was introduced in 2004. The 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 is powered by a 2053cc V-twin engine that’s the biggest Kawasaki has ever produced. The bike is constructed on a sturdy steel double-cradle frame with box section single-tube backbone. The 2008 Vulcan 2000 combines traditional cruiser styling with modern muscle. The top quarter of the Vulcan 2000’s V-twin engine is liquid-cooled with further cooling assistance coming from the oil and water pumps that are incorporated into the bike’s engine and transmission. The V-twin engine is fed by a fuel injection system with dual 46mm throttle bodies and sub throttle valves that are managed by an electronic control unit (ECU). The engine is well integrated into the Vulcan’s steel double-cradle frame, which comes equipped with a large-diameter box-section single-tube backbone.
The 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 has a simple yet elegant rear steel tube swingarm suspension that provides 3.9 inches of travel and includes a spring preload and rebound adjustment. Steering is precise thanks to the large 49mm fork out front. Braking power for the Vulcan is also good; thanks to a pair of beefy 300mm front disc brakes with four-piston calipers and a single rear disc brake with a two-piston caliper.
There are also 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 Classic and Classic LT models. The Classic is essentially made to the same specs as the standard Vulcan 2000. It’s built on the same brawny chassis for starters. However it sports some additional features such as a traditional-style headlight, a ""buckhorn"" handlebar bend, and a more plush passenger seat. The Classic is also powered by the same massive 2053cc V-twin that powers the standard Vulcan 2000. The Classic’s engine features a matte black finishing on the cylinders that provides a striking contrast to its polished cooling fins. Its bright, cast aluminum 16-inch wheels also distinguish the 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 Classic. The Classic is available in either Candy Diamond Red or Metallica Titanium. The 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 LT is the biggest bike in the Vulcan line and is outfitted with accessories that make it the ideal bike for taking on an extended journey. The LT is equipped with such features as a windshield, a passenger backrest, saddlebags, and a more comfortable seat. Despite being such a massive machine that’s decked out in luxury touring accessories, the LT handles about as confidently as the standard 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 or the 2000 Classic.
