The 2008 Honda VTX 1300 bikes are a range of cruisers developed by Honda to provide retro cruiser styling with a smaller engine than the Honda VTX 1800. With the introduction of the all new 2008 Honda VTX 1300T touring cruiser, there are now three models of the VTX 1300 available. Previously available were the VTX 1300C and the VTX 1300R.

All three models of the 2008 Honda VTX 1300 are equipped with a 1312cc, liquid-cooled, 52 degree, V-twin engine. It has a similar engine to the VTX 1800, but the use of a carburetor instead of fuel-injection gives the engine a simpler design. Strong low-end and mid-range torque is delivered to the rear-wheel through a smooth shaft final drive system.

The 2008 Honda VTX 1300 is a heavy bike, and yet it handles quite well. Controls are within easy reach of the rider, so that attention can be paid to the road and not having to deal with confusing or unwieldy switches and instruments. The V-twin engine provides plenty of torque for accelerating and pulling away, and the design of the cruiser is such that vibration is limited, making the ride that much more comfortable.

The chassis of the 2008 Honda VTX 1300 is made from a tubular steel frame. It has a muscular look and is long and low to the ground with a significant rake and trail. The comfort of the rider is enhanced through the low seat height that has a firmly padded seat pad. The large front wheel used on the VTX 1300R and VTX 1300T provide an even wider footprint and give the cruiser a more commanding profile from the front. To improve the traditional cruiser look of the 2008 Honda VTX 1300, the exhaust system was changed to a two-into-two system that had bullet-style mufflers.

The VTX 1300R and VTX 1300T models have additional features that make them stand out from the styling of the original VTX 1300C. To give these cruisers a truly retro style, deeply valanced front and rear fenders have been added. A chrome-hooded headlight, wide fuel tank with instruments mounted directly on the tank, semi-swept handlebars, and floorboards with a heel toe shifter all add to the retro style of the 2008 Honda VTX 1300R and VTX 1300T models. Retro-style cast wheels are also included with the 2008 Honda VTX 1300T touring cruiser.
