2007 United Motors V2S 250R

United Motors, a privately held company with offices in Florida, imported and rebadged Chinese and South Korean motorcycles and scooters; some were made by Jincheng, and some by Hyosung. United Motors’ American operations went out of business in 2010, though the company continued to distribute Korean and Chinese motorcycles in South America. It introduced three Korean-made sport bikes to its line-up in 2006: the V2S 250R, 650, and 650R, which it carried over to 2007.

The V2S 250R has an air/oil-cooled, 249cc, V-twin, four-stroke engine with a dual overhead cam and a Mikuni carburetor. A five-speed manual transmission works with a chain final drive; it has an electric starter. The entry-level sport bike weighs just 390 pounds, with a wheelbase of 56.5 inches and a seat height of 31.3 inches.

The V2S 650 and 650R both have liquid-cooled, 647cc, V-twin, four-stroke engines with dual overhead cams and Mikuni carburetors. The six-speed transmission in both bikes works with a chain drive. Both sport bikes weigh in at 460 pounds.

Inverted forks with adjustable preload provide the front suspension on all three models, the two 650 models have rebound damping as well. The rear suspension on all models is a twin-sided swing arm with an adjustable spring preload shock. All three models have dual disc brakes in front and a single disc in back.

Because United Motors operated in the United States for 15 years and sold thousands of bikes and scooters, parts are available. The company’s bank-owned American assets were purchased by MRP, which has made owner’s manuals available online. There are no United Motors accessories available, and the selection of aftermarket accessories is limited.
