2007 United Motors V2C 650S

United Motors, a privately held company with offices in Florida, imported and rebadged Chinese and South Korean motorcycles and scooters; some were made by Jincheng, and some by Hyosung. United Motors’ American operations went out of business in 2010, though the company continued to distribute Korean and Chinese motorcycles in South America. It introduced two cruisers to its line-up in 2006, the V2C 250T and 650S, which it carried over to 2007, when it added V2C 650T, a tourer.

The V2C 250T has an air/oil-cooled, 249cc, V-twin, four-stroke engine with a dual overhead cam and a Mikuni carburetor. A five-speed manual transmission works with a chain final drive; it has an electric starter. The entry-level cruiser weighs just 370 pounds, with a wheelbase of 59 inches and a seat height of 27.5 inches. Its front suspension is a telescopic fork; the rear is a twin-sided swing arm with an adjustable spring preload shock. It has a single disc brake in front and a drum brake in the rear.

The V2C 650S and 650T both have liquid-cooled, 647cc, V-twin, four-stroke engines with dual overhead cams and Mikuni carburetors. The five-speed transmission in both bikes works with a belt drive. Front suspension in the 650S is a telescopic fork with adjustable preload and rebound damping; the 650T has an inverted fork, also with adjustable preload and rebound damping. Both have twin-sided swing arms with an adjustable preload shock. Both have dual disc brakes in front and a single disc in back.

For cruisers, both 650 models are light—just 498 pounds. The wheelbase on both is about 65 inches; the seat height is around 28 inches. None of these bikes came with any sort of storage, and there are no UM accessories on the market, but after-market accessories are available.

Because United Motors operated in the United States for 15 years and sold thousands of bikes and scooters, parts are available. The company’s bank-owned American assets were purchased by MRP, which has made owner’s manuals available online.

New For 2007
  • The V2C 650T, imported from South Korea, was new to the UM line in 2007.
