2006 Suzuki DR-Z 400SM Base

The DR-Z 400 SM is a street-legal Supermoto machine. Japanese manufacturer Suzuki introduced the DR-Z 400 E / S / SM Enduro sport dual purpose motorcycle series in 2001. On-off road motorcycles are lightweight, and are as agile, stable, and maneuverable on trails or dirt as they are on pavement. On-off road bikes are designed to look like dirt bikes, but are mechanically constructed to effectively operate on pavement. They are a compromise between sport and comfort. The Suzuki DR-Z 400SM Base is no exception, although it is more of a road motorcycle than an off-road bike.

The 2006 DR-Z 400SM Base model is constructed from an aluminum / steel frame with plastic body. A four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid/air-cooled engine with a five-speed manual transmission comes standard on this bike.

The 2006 DR-Z 400SM Base’s engine displacement to weight is 1.35 cc. It is put into motion by an electric digital/DC-CDI start and oversized braking system.

The 2006 Suzuki DR-Z 400SM Base’s standard dimensions include a length of 87.4 in. (2220 mm), width of 34.3 in. (870 mm), and height of 46.7 in. (1185 mm). It has a ground clearance of 11.8 in. (300 mm).

Although minimal, the DR-Z 400SM Base has standard digital instrumentation that features a speedometer, lap timer, trip odometer, and clock.

Other standard features include hand grips, driver/passenger pegs, exterior guards and covers, fork guards, side cover, front and rear fenders, and kick stand. Aside from a vinyl tail bag, the sport model offers no saddle bag or storage.
