2006 KYMCO People S 250

Intro

The Kymco People S motor scooter comes in four different versions. While the body style of these four scooters varies slightly, the primary difference between them is in the engine. Kymco offers the People S series with 50 cc, 125 cc, 200 cc and 250 cc engines. The 2006 Kymco People S series is the perfect choice for stop-and-go city driving. These scooters are easy to park, fuel-efficient, and have great braking abilities.

At 16 inches in diameter, the wheels on the People S scooters are significantly larger than those of similar scooters. These larger wheels mean that the scooter is not quite as nimble as scooters with smaller wheels. However, they also mean that the scooter has better traction and handling at higher speeds. Users have noted that the large wheels give the People S more of a ""motorcycle"" feel. When drivers take the People S out on the highway, these wheels guarantee stability. The big wheels also give riders a smoother ride when facing bumpy streets and potholes.

The appearance of the People S series is more ""boxy"" than the typical aerodynamic look that long-time Kymco fans have come to expect. However, test drivers commented that not having the typical scooter ""hump"" in the center of the floorboard was surprisingly comfortable for long rides. The flat, square floorboard enables the driver to easily shift position, leading to better balance and stability. This boxy floorboard will be especially attractive for shorter drivers.

The engines of the People S series scooters run smoothly for a peaceful, comfortable ride. Additionally, these motors are unfailingly faithful, giving People S owners years of service. Kymco engines are particularly noted for being low-maintenance. Most of Kymco""s scooters leave the factory with a speed-governor on the engine, and the People S series is no different. However, Kymco owners have found removing these restrictions fairly uncomplicated. The most common problem of long-time owners is that the speedometer of the People S is rather unreliable.

New For 2006
  • Large 16-inch wheels may initially look odd, but they give the rider a smooth, comfortable ride.
  • The passenger pegs on the People S fold away when they are not in use.
