Austrian manufacturer KTM Sportmotorcycle AG introduces its off-road models in 2006. Off-road, trail, or dirt bikes are speedy and lightweight, with rugged tires designed for motocross, cross-country, and all-terrain competition.
The 2006 KTM SX off-road models’ closest competition includes Yamaha (the overall user-rated leader), Honda, and Suzuki. Of all the adult SX submodels, which include the SX 525, SX 450, SX 250 F, SX 250, and SX 125, the 2006 KTM SX 125 ranks the highest in consumer ratings.
The SX Youth comes in five submodels: the SX 50, SX 50 Junior, SX 65, SX 85 17/14, and SX 85 19/16. Of these submodels, the SX 85 17/14 ranks the highest in consumer ratings.
The 2006 KTM XC series is built on a chromium molybdenum frame and has plastic body construction. Instrumentation, bags, and storage are not standard equipment on the series due to the nature and intent of the motorcycle.
