2006 Honda Big Ruckus Base

Intro

The 2006 Honda Big Ruckus is also known as the PS250. It was first introduced in Canada and the United States, and it was among the lowest-priced Honda scooters. The motorcycle was released in 2005 to answer consumer requests for a bigger version of Hondas’ 50cc Ruckus. However, the yellow-only version did not attract buyers. With this, Honda created the silver version with black panels in 2006. What makes it different from its predecessor is the rear seat that features a backrest for the solo rider. Another distinctive feature is the linked brake system where the back lever cranks up the front brake.

The 2006 Big Ruckus is not different from the 2005 version internally. It has the same powerful liquid-cooled 249cc four-stroke engine that allows riders to take off quickly and powerfully. The cylinder head is made of aluminum, and it boasts a compression ratio of 10.5:1. This is intended to allow the scooter the highest intake velocity in order to respond immediately to low-to-average speeds while maintaining power on the highway for superb cruising.

In addition, the engine and drive train have a 30mm carburetor that provides the best throttle response for great fuel efficiency. Riders can rely on its power as it has a maintenance-free and totally transistorized ignition. The effortless push button electric starter is something to look forward to with the Big Ruckus.

Moreover, Honda built the Big Ruckus with an air injection system that guarantees reduction in exhaust emissions and more efficient combustion. There is also no need for a manual choke because this bike has an auto enriching system. Riders do not have to think about the engine temperature as it has a fan-cooled radiator that keeps its stable for longer engine life.

The rugged style, comfortable texture floorboards, sliding adjustable seat, convertible passenger saddle and spacious platform with tie-down hooks are among the other attractive features that potential buyers should look out for. The floorboards provide everyone the most comfortable foot placement. Riders can easily place both feet on the ground because these floorboards narrow below. There are also footrests for passengers that may be folded when not in use. This means owners can enjoy a long ride without the hassles and inconvenience. Passenger can also find comfort all throughout the trip.

Furthermore, Big Ruckus boasts a lightweight steel frame that is durable and strong. It displays the bike’s excellent combination of flexibility and rigidity for smooth road handling. Everyone can expect a well-controlled ride with its suspension travel that measures 3.9 inches and a 33mm hydraulic fork. When it comes to stopping power, Big Ruckus has a 240mm hydraulic front disc brake and a drum rear brake. This high-end brake system allows drivers to take full control over stopping or slowing. Applying the front brake lever activates the front brake in the conventional way. Meanwhile, rear brake level application actuates both the front and rear brakes at the same time. The bike’s tires are quite large at 110/90 12 inches in front and 130/70 12 inches in the rear to provide better traction.

The 2006 Honda Big Ruckus also features high-end instrumentation. This includes the trip meter, analog speedometer, indicator lights for oil temperature and parking brake and fuel gauge. The two 60-watt high beam bulbs and two 55-watt low beam bulbs make up the scooter’s rugged dual headlight features for superior illumination. Riders can also find the handlebar mounted rear view mirrors along with the convenient locking utility box for storing smaller items. This additional feature is located in the passenger seat. The Big Ruckus has a large fuel tank that can store as much as 3.2 gallons. Most importantly, drivers can always safely park their Big Ruckus with its steering lock or ignition switch.
