2005 Suzuki DR-Z 125L

The 2005 Suzuki DR-Z lineup has something for every level of rider, from the entry level motorcross enthusiast, to seasoned hill jumpers looking for a reliable and powerful off-road bike. Available in five sub-models, the 2005 DR-Z continues the Japanese manufacturer's tradition of trail-blazing excellence, with few changes being made over the 2004 model lineup. The reason? It simply doesn't need any improvements.

The Suzuki DR-Z has three sub-models in its entry level category – the 110, the 125, and the 125L – and each one offers an exceptionally easy learning curve for new or young riders. Meanwhile, more experienced riders will natUrally be more attracted to one of the two larger bikes, the 250 or the 400E. While all five bikes carry the DR-Z tag, there are some significant differences between them.

The 110 is the baby of the 2005 Suzuki DR-Z family. It features a peppy single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC, 111cc engine, a Keihin carburetor, and a responsive three-speed transmission that offers the convenience of either manual or automatic operation. The 125 and 125L share the same 124cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine with a Mikuni carburetor, although they do differ in terms of braking systems. Where the 125 has drums on the front and back, the 125L sports hydraulic disc braking on its front wheel.

As for the larger bikes, the Suzuki DR-Z250 is equipped with a single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC, 249cc engine, and a 28mm Mikuni carburetor. The Suzuki DR-Z400E has a single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC, liquid-cooled, 398cc engine, with a 39mm Keihin carburetor. All of the models, with the exception of the 110, feature five-speed transmission with chain primary drives.

Visually speaking, the 2005 Suzuki DR-Z is consistent along its model line. All five sub-models look strikingly similar, if only in slightly different sizes. Seat heights range from a low 25.6 inches on the 110, to 37.2 inches on the 400E. Fuel tank sizes also differ accordingly, with the 110 offering a small one-gallon tank, and the largest tank in the family at 2.8 gallons, as found on the 250.

The 2005 Suzuki DR-Z family of motocross bikes features quality, consistency, and expert design and engineering across the entire line. Regardless of where you stand on the motocross experience ladder, you're going to find a pleasantly rewarding solution to your motorcross needs, right here in this beautifully represented line from Suzuki.
