2005 Piaggio LT50 Base

Intro

While there are many different scooters on the road today, few combine class and comfort with easy riding ability that the Italian-produced 2005 Piaggio LT50 does. For riders of just about all ages and ability levels, the LT50 will be a seriously tempting option.

The 2005 Piaggio LT50 comes with a sleek, steel frame and a smaller overall size, which makes it easy to handle, especially for beginners. This scooter is 75.4 inches in length and 28.8 inches in width, and with just a 195.8 lb. dry weight, it's easily maneuverable for riders of all sizes. The 2005 Piaggio LT50 comes in five colors: Royal Blue, Platinum Metallic, Pearl, Aquamarine, and Black, giving prospective owners a number of different styling options when purchasing.

However, despite its moderately sized body frame, the LT50 packs a powerful punch, thanks to its 2-stroke, single cylinder engine. The engine has 49.4cc's of displacement, with reed valve configuration and 1.6 x 1.5 inches of bore and stroke, which helps the bike produce 7000 RPMs of horsepower. This scooter also comes equipped with a continuously variable transmission and primary belt drive, making it easy to navigate into and out of traffic, even when cruising at top speeds. Because of its engine and transmission specs, the 2005 Piaggio LT50 requires premium fuel.

Despite the bike's powerful engine, the Piaggio LT50's suspension and steering make for a smooth ride, once it hits the open road. The bike is equipped with telescopic fork front end suspension, which combines with single sided swing arm rear suspension to create a safe and easy riding experience. A single rear shock absorber helps the LT50 maintain a balanced drive even on rough terrain, as does its 70/90 R16 front tire, and 90/80 R16 rear tire. The 2005 Piaggio LT50 also comes with a pair of tubeless steel wheels that each measure 16 inches in diameter. The scooter's front wheel has a slightly larger 1.6 inch width, when compared to the rear tire, which is only 1.5 inches.

In addition, the 2005 Piaggio LT50 also has a number of built-in safety features to protect riders. The scooter is equipped with 8.7 front end hydraulic disc brakes, which combine with 5.5 rear drum brakes to allow the driver to come to smooth stops, even under adverse road conditions. Front and rear fenders provide an extra measure of security for both driver and passenger.

And finally, beyond the bike's standard specs, the 2005 Piaggio LT50 comes with a number of additional features to help further enhance the riding experience. The scooter has standard hand grips, driver and passenger floor boards, and a center stand to help keep the bike balanced when not in use. It also comes equipped with a clock, digital instrumentation, and speedometer, as well as a fuel level warning gauge to let the driver know when the bike's 1.4 gallon fuel capacity tank is running low. Lastly, the bike has helmet storage, lockable storage, and under seat storage, all of which allows the driver and passenger to pack extra supplies for especially long trips.
