The 2005 Kawasaki ZRX represents the fifth model year of the standard motorcycle, as well as its production mid-point (it was produced from 2001 to 2008). For the 2005 model year, the ZRX was available as just one model: the ZRX 1200R. Designed as a racing-oriented bike with more-than-adequate power and solid handling and braking, it is named after the displacement of its engine, measured at 1,164 cubic centimeters (rounded up to 1,200). The manufacturer’s suggested retail price was set at $8,199.
The engine that powers the 2005 Kawasaki ZRX is a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder unit. It is fueled by four 36-millimeter (mm) Keihin carburetors and has a total of 16 intake valves (four on each cylinder.)
