Husqvarna motorcycles are a powerhouse in the world of dirt biking. Even through changes in ownership from Swedish to Italian to German in the last century, Husqvarna dirt bikes are consistent winners in motocross, Enduro, and cross-country racing. Riders have championed Husqvarna bikes to more than 80 world titles in the last 50 years. They also make exceptional bikes for riding desert or forest trails. Husqvarna makes several lines of Enduro/off-road dirt bikes, including the TE series, which, in 2005, was available in three models: the TE 250, the TE 450, and the TE 510. All of these models were released in Husqvarna’s traditional color combination of yellow and blue.
The TE 450 is considered the flagship of the TE line, and was named 2004 Enduro bike of the year. The TE 450 has lots of power when it counts and is considered a nimble bike on trails, though not as nimble as its sibling, the TE 250. The TE 510 is the centennial model. Husqvarna made its first motorbike in 1903, but considers 2005 its 100th anniversary of making motorcycles. With more stroke than the TE 450, the TE 510 is more powerful, though the additional power might be too much for lightweight or inexperienced riders. All three models have electric starters, though a kick start kit can be added as an option. The bikes are highly reliable, but are among the easiest to repair should a breakdown occur. This is important when a bike breaks down on the trail.
