2005 Honda VTX 1800C Spec 2

Intro

In 2005, Honda released three separate variations of its VTX 1800C cruising model, in order to meet the diverse needs of its customer base. But while the Spec 1, Spec 2, and Spec 3 offer slightly different features, each bike affords the driver a comfortable riding experience once the wheels hit the road.

Of every motorcycle Honda has produced throughout the years, the 2005 Honda VTX 1800C is one of the largest on the market. The bike's wheelbase stands at 67.9 inches with a 714-pound dry weight; this is not a motorcycle for beginning riders. The VTX 1800C has a seat height of 27.9 inches, which gives the driver a clear view of the open road. Passenger seating allows a companion to come along on rides as well. The bike comes in three separate colors: Black, Black Flame, and Candy Red Flame.

While the 2005 Honda VTX 1800C has a powerful look, its steering and suspension allow it to ride like a much smaller bike. The VTX 1800C is equipped with a front-end inverted fork suspension with 5.1 inches of front travel, combined with a twin-sided swing arm rear suspension and 3.9 inches of rear travel, which creates an easy ride, even for novice drivers. This motorcycle is also equipped with 11.7-inch dual disc front brakes and 12.5-inch rear brakes, which allows for smooth stops, while a pair of rear-end shock absorbers creates a smooth ride, even on rough terrain.

The 2005 Honda VTX 1800C's wheels and tires help to further enhance the riding experience. The 2005 VTX 1800C's tubeless aluminum wheels allow for a smooth ride thanks to wheel measurements that include a slightly larger (17-inch) front end, as compared to the rear (16 inches). The bike is also equipped with a 130/70 R17 front tire and 180/70 R16 rear tire.

Of course, no conversation about this motorcycle would be truly complete without a discussion of its powerful four-stroke engine. The 2005 Honda VTX 1800C comes with a 1795cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin, SOHC engine, with 3.98 x 4.41 inches of bore and stroke and a 9:1 compression ratio. This bike also has a five-speed manual transmission with a shaft and rear-wheel drive.

Beyond the basics, the Honda VTX 1800C also comes with a number of additional features. The bike is equipped with a standard fuel level warning light, speedometer, temperature warning light, and trip odometer, as well as exterior guards and covers. The motorcycle also has a kickstand to help keep the bike balanced when not in use and hand grips and foot peg locations that create a comfortable riding experience, even on long trips. Front and rear fenders provide an extra level of security for both driver and passenger.

Finally, for riders who are truly looking for an individualized riding experience, the 2005 Honda VTX 1800C comes in three models: the Spec 1, Spec 2, and Spec 3, and each offers slightly different features and unique designs. While most of the bike's specs are uniform, the difference truly lies in the styling. As an example, Spec 1 and Spec 2 both come with a cast aluminum handle bar with a satin-brushed finish, while the Spec 3 has a chrome-plated handlebar instead. In addition, the Spec 3 also features highly polished cast aluminum wheels, while the Spec 1 and Spec 2 have satin-brushed cast aluminum wheels.
